Track Welcome

CollageScouting is fun with a purpose, and the purpose is to raise boys who respect themselves and others, and who have strong character. Pack 335 is a small pack, dedicated to creating a lively Cub Scout experience with activities that capture the interest of boys, yet are fun for the entire family!

Track Who We Are

Pack 335 is open to all boys grades 1 through 5, regardless of the school or church they attend. Our Cubs mostly attend Immanuel Lutheran, Kate Bond, or Shelby Oaks Elementary schools, but a few attend other schools. Immanuel Lutheran Church sponsors Pack 335 and provides facilities for us to meet.

Our affiliations – Immanuel Lutheran Church officially sponsors Pack 335, which is in the Loosahatchie District of the Chickasaw Council, Boy Scouts of America.

How we’re organized
Cub Scout Packs are organized by dens. Each den usually has six to 10 boys from the same grade level. Dens are a great way to make and stay in touch with friends. Boys may join at any grade, whether or not they’ve been a Scout before.

Track Meetings

Each den meets weekly on Mondays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and also plans several field trips throughout the year. Parents usually take turns organizing the den meetings and field trips. Pack meetings are one Monday evening each month and feature award recognition and fun activities.

Summer Cub Scout Day Camp provides five packed days of fun-filled games, crafts, shows and activities. In addition, family campouts and hikes may be planned for the entire pack or individual dens.

Major pack events include fall and spring campouts, a Halloween costume party, the Bartlett Christmas Parade, Pinewood Derby, Scout Sunday, May picnic, Blue and Gold Banquet, Scouting skills, den field trips and summer activities, such as the Memorial Day flag planting at the Veteran’s Cemetery, a drive-in movie, a Redbirds baseball game and laser tag.

Track Pack Achievements and Awards

The youngest Scouts earn recognition for achievement in family, den or go-see-it activities. They participate in all Scouting events with an adult partner (usually mom or dad).

As Scouts grow, they can learn essential skills and enjoyment of outdoor activities, community involvement, personal safety, sports and the environment. They earn emblems of recognition as they progress throughout the Cub Scout achievements and electives for their age group Scouts can also earn recognition for 24 different sport accomplishments, including virtually every ball sport, plus skating, fishing and swimming.

Academic accomplishment is also very important, with recognition of accomplishment in 16 areas, including:

Art Astronomy Chess Computers Geography Heritage Language and Cultures Map and Compass Mathematics Music Science Weather Wildlife Conservation

Webelos are the oldest Scouts, and they can earn 20 pins signifying their proficiency in physical, mental, community, technology and outdoor activities.

The Webelos program also prepares boys to join Boy Scouts at the end of fifth grade.

Track Costs

Registration for national membership in Scouting is $22, which includes a subscription to Boys’ Life magazine. Cub Scout Pack 335 also requests annual dues that cover the awards and supplies each Scout receives, as well as unit insurance and pack activities. Uniforms and handbooks are required. Uniform cost varies depending on the age level. Some pack events, such as campouts, may also require a nominal activity fee, which are the responsibility of those who participate.

Track Volunteers

Go Cart FunParent volunteers are the heart of the Cub Scout program. Each group of boys needs a den leader, and these positions are filled through the parents of the boys involved. Registration and training are provided and required by the pack for all leaders.

Cub Scout Packs don’t exist without volunteer leadership.

Many other positions are needed to help make the program a success. If you’d like to help in any capacity, contact the Pack Committee Chairman or Cubmaster.
