Boy Scout Troop 335, chartered to Immanuel Lutheran Church,
is part of the Chickasaw Council, Southeast Region. We started as an
off-shoot of Troop 270 of this council in order to help the boys by
relocating to their school and closer to their homes.
We've been meeting at the church for over 10 years now.
We are very proud of the fact that of the first 5 Scouts registered
in 1997, four have earned their Eagle Award. Since then we have had 3 more
eagles and are looking forward to 8 more in the next few years.
We have taken in scouts from four other units over the years and have grown
and shrunk as our boys have grown up and moved on. A few still stay in town
and help out once and a while. We are looking forward to them joining us on
a more regular basis once they have their lives well in hand and on the
right path.
The Crew started in 2006 as a way for the 'little sisters of the Troop' to
formally participate in the Scouting program. It was started by two wives,
three sisters of scouts, and two scouts from the troop.
Over the last year they grown by a few and are really getting involved in
the council events for Venturing.
As Scouts from the troop attain eagle, they are invited to co-register with
the Venture crew and partake in the HIGH adventure programs that they have
planned.
