Scouts - Important news about discounted gear!!!

If you need gear and are looking for good prices, we just heard about a new program from Scoutdirect.com. They resell Alps Mountaineering gear for 45% off MSRP. Now, we don't' have a lot of knowledge about the brand, but we've seen it around. We're as curious as you are about it's quality and durability, but you certainly cannot beat the prices. Especially the sales flyer.

Here is the email I got yesterday from them - the attachments are linked in...

Mr. Mike

Mike,

Attached is a document describing our 45% Discount Scout Program and a file that contains our price list and order form. If you're new to ALPS Mountaineering, we welcome you to visit our web site www.alpsmountaineering.com and our site dedicated to Scouts, www.scoutdirect.com.  All of our packs, tents, sleeping bags, air pads and furniture are made to the highest of quality standards and come with a lifetime guarantee.  Our products are known for offering great value, and with the 45% Scout discount, they offer unbelievable value.  One definition of value is "getting what you pay for".  We define value as "getting more than you pay for".

Listed below is a copy of a recent Newsletter.  We'll get your name added for the next one.

Scouts,
It's finally spring, the flowers are blooming and the weather is beginning to stay warm. So that can only mean we need to start the spring with a great sale to encourage all of us to get outside and enjoy the weather.
  • Scout Program - Lately we have had a lot of questions regarding our scout program, and I feel it may be due to the ever-expanding program. We have had some scouts going into our dealers asking for the scout discount, not knowing this is a direct program with us. Just to be crystal clear, the Scout prices are only valid with us.  Please do not go into your dealer and talk about, or ask for, the Scout prices.  That only makes the dealer mad and causes us problems later with the dealer.  We know that our price lists are distributed troop to troop all the time, so I am asking when explaining our program you stress to the recipient that they need to direct all orders and question directly to us. Our customer service department is great with answering any questions they may have. I have attached our program sheet along with our updated price list, so please attached that information when sending information to fellow scouts.
  • Updated Price Lists - We have changed some things around with our scout price list. We have consolidated our price list to have our hot selling categories only to hopefully make the order form/price list a little easier to read. Our full-line is still offered at the 45% off retail.  If you are interested in an item that is not on the price list, just go to our web site, locate the full retail price, and take off your 45% Scout discount.
  • Submitting SPRING SALE Orders - I've attached the order form. You are welcome to email orders to sarah@scoutdirect.com, fax orders to 573.459.2044, or you can simply call us at 800.344.2577 or 888.908.2044. If you fax or email orders in, and if they are correctly submitted, you will receive a FREE ALPS Mountaineering Water Bottle with your order, while supplies last. See attached order form for sale details.
  • ScoutDirect Salesman Sample Sale Items
    • We have some GREAT items listed on the Sale Items Page at this time. We are trying to closeout our 2007 Extreme models, so check out www.scoutdirect.com to receive some AWESOME DEALS.  These tents can be paid with a credit card or check! So you are welcome to add these to your Spring Sale order.
    • But most of these items will still need to be paid for with a check. Please call us to hold your item(s). PLACING ORDERS - To place an order you can give us a call at 800-344-2577, or you can e-mail Karen at karen@scoutdirect.com. We still sell these "first come, first served", so the only thing about sending an e-mail is that you don't know for sure if we still have the item available you want to purchase. However, it does allow you to "shop" in the evenings and on the weekends when we're not here. Karen will check her e-mail first thing every morning and reply to you immediately if the item is still available, or not available, and what your shipping charges will be if it is still available.
  • NEW Bulletin Board - We are adding a new page to our website, our "Scout Bulletin Board." This will be used for updates, small sales or anything that we feel we would like for everyone to know about without bothering you with additional emails. So check it out when you get a chance!
  • Gift Certificates - We are now offering Gift Certificates for those who are hard to buy for. Minimum amount must be at least $25 and we will accept any amount over $25 in increments of $5.
  • Registering - Calling all scouts and scout parents - We encourage all scout leaders and scout parents to register online at www.scoutdirect.com under Registering http://www.scoutdirect.com/ScoutDirectRegistration.htm. This is a great way to be informed of GREAT SALES (like this) and/or other information relating to our scout program. Please send this email on to your fellow scouts to get them involved. We promise that you won't get any junk emails.
  • Tent Floor Savers - Our floor savers are a great addition to any tent purchase.  They are cut a little smaller than the dimension of the tent floor and have a webbing loop on all four corners, which makes it easy to pull and stake out with the tent stakes. Simple, fast and all at a great price.
Our Customer Service Department (Karen, Laurie, LaRayne, Debbie ... and of course me!) will be waiting for your calls, faxes and emails.

Did you go to Six Flags?

Six Flags

We had a great time!!! Rollercoasters, food, fun, sun, and a great camp too!!!

Congrats to all of those who went and made it a successful trip. Well behaved scouts and not trouble at all! I think we can safely say that trips like this are possible for the future. I know that parents who went had a fun time as well, even if a number of them were too scared to get on the rides!

Parents - Do you want to get involved and help us out? Click here for the current job openings!!!
